Six Sigma Green Belt Certification exam is both open and closed book, depending upon the accrediting body which is conducting the exam. There is 100 objective type, mostly multiple-choice questions that assess the breadth of an individual’s understanding and the proficiency to apply the right tool or solution in the proper context. Six Sigma Green Belt exam also has questions where the candidate has to mark True or False after comprehensively and analytically rationalizing the problem case presented. There are no pre-requisites for appearing in the exam though ASQ stipulates that the candidate must have full-time organizational working experience in a paid role.

• Total of 100 questions have to be attempted within the allotted 3 hours
• Extra 10 non-graded questions are included in specific exam formats
• 20 True/ False and multiple-choice questions from each of 5 sections
• 5 sections of Green Belt Body of Knowledge refer to DMAIC
• On-Demand testing system for the web-based exam also available
